God, The Eternal Father

There is so much to be grateful for, however having a personal and close ties to God, our Eternal Father is at the top! He plays a active role in our lives, and I feel so blessed to have him in our lives. So what does that mean for each of us? Why do we need to develop a personal relationship with Him?

God, The Eternal Father, is the author of the creation and our becoming. A loving being who care for each of us deeply. He have us the most beautiful gift-to choose for ourselves, the path that we would take. He respects our choices, no matter what. Everyone has a equal chance to return to Him. He is no respecter of persons, he gives unconditional love..always. Joseph Smith taught this doctrine " While one portion of the human race is judging and condemning the other without mercy, the Great Parent of the universe looks upon the whole of the human family with a fatherly care and paternal regard. He views them as His offspring. The purpose of our God are great, His love unfathomable, His wisdom infinite, and His power unlimited; therefore, the Saints have cause to rejoice and be glad, knowing that 'this God is our God forever and ever, and He will be our Guide until death."

Knowing God, as our Eternal Father, is necessary in order to inherit Eternal Life. we need to develop a bond with him. In the first estate (or also known as the pre mortal life) we had close ties to our Heavenly Parents. Brigham Young said this on this matter " I want to tell you, each and every one of you, that you are well acquainted with God our Heavenly Father, or the great Eloheim. You are all well acquainted with Him, for there is not a soul of you but what has lived in His house and dwelt with Him year after year...There is not a person here today but what is a son or a daughter of that Being. In the spirit word their spirits were first begotten and brought forth, and they lived there with their parents for ages and ages before they came here. This perhaps, is hard for many to believe, but it is the greatest nonsense in the world not to believe it. If you do not believe it, cease to call Him Father, and when you pray, pray to some other characters".

As we come to know our Father in Heaven, we will begin to understand His will and desire for us. Terry L. Givens from the book "The God Who Weeps" said this concerning his desire for our happiness and joy "God's desire, so manifest in the texture of the created order, is to enlarge the sphere of human joy, and we discover the marvelous truth that our joy is His joy. What greater motivation could there be for us to seek out and secure our own, our friends', our families' happiness, than to know it adds to His." It explains that when we are full of joy in our hearts, so is God. Everything He has blessed us with, is to bring us happiness. Everything that He asks of us is a deep desire to have joy in our lives and for the eternities to come. In His mind, when he gives us commandments and laws, He is looking out for our welfare, and for our own futures. He has "endowed us with all the potential of our eternal Heavenly Parents"-Sterling W. Sill.
